Learning and assessment design
More than 10 years designing and building teaching material and assessment for university computing courses.
Teaching material
Complete course material built from the ground up: lecture content, lab and tutorial programs, working reference applications and supporting documentation.
Built around current industry technology: full-stack web, Android, cloud services, serverless applications, IoT and blockchain DApps.
Formats and platforms
Material built for Moodle and Canvas and as standalone HTML, with other formats taken on as a project needs.
Including H5P content and quizzes.
Assessment for the AI era
Assessments that assure learning in a world where students have AI tools, with clear rules on permitted use.
Informed by my research interest in AI-assisted learning and assessment in computing education.
Marking rubrics
Rubrics for assignments and for oral assessment: code interviews, presentations and demos.
Backed by moderation sessions with tutor teams to keep marking consistent.

- Material and assessment delivered to units of around 400 students, marked by teams of around 10 tutors per unit.
- Orientation and moderation sessions with tutor teams before and during semester, to keep marking consistent across campuses and cohorts.
- Directed the Center for Educational Technology at the American University in the Emirates (2012–2015), leading the university's adoption of technology in teaching and learning.
- Graduate of the Teaching Excellence Program, Monash Education Academy.
